Broadway Performer Craig Schulman Returns to Oswego for "Heroes, Monsters & Madmen" March 23rd at the American Foundry
Broadway musician and former SUNY Oswego student Craig Schulman will bring his talents to the American Foundry in Oswego on Friday, March 23rd for and Oswego Opera Theater production entitled, "Heroes, Monsters & Madmen", a compilation of his Broadway performances, according to Oswego Opera Theater Artistic Director Mack Richardson.
"We are extremely excited to have Craig Schulman featured during our 2011-2012 season for the Oswego Opera Theater," said Richardson. "We are proud and grateful to welcome such a successful Broadway talent back to his Oswego roots for this memorable performance."
Mr. Schulman is the only performer in the world to have held the roles of three of the most extraordinary musical theater characters ever written. He has appeared in the title roles in Leslie Bricusse and Frank Wildhorn's Jekyll and Hyde, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, and nearly 200 performances as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, on Broadway and around the world. This includes being chosen to represent the United States as Jean Valjean at the Les Miz 10th Anniversary Concert in Royal Albert Hall, London. Mr. Schulman has also played Che in Evita, Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, and Archibald Craven in The Secret Garden.
"Heroes, Monsters & Madmen" is an all-Broadway performance that will include the music of Jekyll and Hyde, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Wizard of Oz, Camelot, Man of La Mancha, Guys and Dolls, Damn Yankees, The Secret Garden, Ragtime, Scarlet Pimpernel, Beauty and the Beast, and Merrily We Roll Along.
